Weekly classes

This beautiful form of exercise nurtures the whole being whilst keeping us fit. Because Transformation Yoga encourages and works in harmony with each person’s natural energies, a greater degree of peace can be attained on all levels – spiritually, mentally, emotionally and physically.
Attention is given to the breath, and by co-ordinating our physical movements with the breath and with mind concentration, we can begin to achieve our full potential.
As we become more in tune with ourselves we can then feel more at ease, be better able to deal with stressful situations, and have greater clarity when making decisions. Beauty of spirit, grace of movement and peace of mind then flow naturally.
Classes are held weekly throughout the year, and individual or group sessions can be arranged.

Antenatal and Postnatal Yoga

Many women find Transformation Yoga an extremely helpful exercise in pregnancy. Yoga, in addition to health benefits, helps to prepare the body for labour and birth in a gentle and unobtrusive manner.
By careful selection of antenatal exercises, the teacher is able to focus some work towards pelvic opening and maximising muscle and ligament flexibility, helping the birth process to be more natural and flowing. Increasing lung and chest capacity is also covered, allowing for greater comfort as the baby grows in the mother’s body. Great care is taken so that no-one over-reaches her physical ability, and general exercises for the overall health of the mother and baby are also taught.
Women from 14 weeks to full term are welcome to join antenatal Yoga – and women planning to become pregnant are encouraged to attend regular Yoga classes beforehand.
Post-natally, Transformation Yoga is also of great benefit to the pelvic floor, the skin and muscle tone, and all aspects of on-going health. Please contact your nearest Centre for further details and times.

Transformation Yoga and Relaxation Days

These are for those who are unable to come to weekly classes, and those wishing to concentrate more intensively during a day of Transformation Yoga and Relaxation.
These days are planned so that, between breaks and lunch, each session is varied and complete in itself; there will be relaxation and visualisation to help reach a greater depth of balance and self-awareness. Aqua Yoga may be included in the day’s schedule.
We will be working with body position and the breath, as well as using our mind as we focus attention on each part. This can help us to ‘listen’ more intuitively as we go with the natural flow of our energies, thereby finding more enjoyment in all areas of our life.

Aqua Yoga

Employing the principles of Transformation Hatha Yoga in water allows for ease of movement and more flexibility than may be possible on dry land, especially for those with limited mobility.
The water resistance increases the effectiveness of the postures, and allows a gentle strengthening of muscles and joints, while the buoyancy encourages more grace and flow of movement. With the flotation, a different range of movement is possible, adding a new dimension to Transformation Yoga, using specially designed and adapted exercises.
The sessions take place in our heated Therapy Pool, designed for easy access to a safe and level depth of water, surrounded by handrails for support. Classes are taught individually or in small groups by thoroughly trained and qualified teachers who will look to the needs of each student. Aqua Yoga feeds the whole being – the freedom of movement frees the mind allowing us to feel the joy within.
